◾A Rigid body is that whose shape and size does not vary under the motion.

⚫Translatory motion

◾If all the particles of the body have the same velocity at any instant then such a motion is called Translatory motion

⚫Rotatory motion

◾If every particle of the body moves in a circle which lies in a plane perpendicular to the axis of rotation and if the line of points remain fixed then such a motion of bodies is known as Rotatory motion.
