Cone cells are the photoreceptor cells present in the retina of the vertebrae eyes (eg: human eye). They are responsible for colour vision and functioms best in bright light. Rod cellsare also present in the retina of the eye and functions best in lest intense light. They are concentrated mostly on the outer edges of the retina and are used in peripheral vision.
