define Rutherford model of an atom

Rutherford conducted an experiment by bombarding a thin sheet of gold with α-particles and then studied the trajectory of these particles after their interaction with the gold foil.

According to the Rutherford's model of Atom , the nucleus is very dense and is located in the middle of the Atom , Atoms contain equal no. of protons and electrons , and electrons constantly revolve around the nucleus .
