Rutherford had given the model in which he used a thin gold foil and electrons are ejecting from an atom and striking to the gold foil.
in this he observed that 1) maximum of the electrons are passed undeflected it means that maximum of the space in the atom is free.
2) some electrons deflect to some angle that means they faced some force
3) a very few electrons ie 1 of 20000 reflected back to 180° that is the positive charge is located at very small region.
Rutherford has discovered nucleus from this model
