Scientific Definition:

Sapro means rotten and phyton means plant. In this nutrition organism obtain it's food from decaying organic matter of dead plants, dead animals and rotten bread. In Saprophytic nutrition the organism releases some juices to soften or digest the food and then absorbs the nutrients.
