Saprophytic nutrition is that nutrition in which an organism obtains it's food from decaying matter of dead plants, animals etc.
For example- fungus and many bacteria.

▪️food is obtained from organic matters like dead and decaying organisms, excreta, fallen leaves, broken twigs, food articles.

▪️most of the saprotrophs are fungi ( bread moulds, yeast and mushrooms) and some other microorganisms (bacteria).

▪️in saprophytic Nutrition. the organisms secretes digestive enzymes on the food (complex organic compounds) and breaks down the food into simpler and soluble substances outside the body in (external digestion) and then observes it by the body surface.

▪️saprotrophs also functions as scavengers.

The organisms which are saprotrophic is Rhizopus, Yeast, and Mushroom.
