A scalar quantity is a one dimensional measurement of a quantity, like temperature, or weight. A vector has more than one number associated with it. In physics-It has a magnitude and direction

Sclar quantities- sclar quantities are those quantities which are completely described by their magnitude.
Ex-distance,speed ,mass,time,volume,work etc.

Vector quantities-vector quantities are those quantities which are completely described if their magnitude as well as direction are known.
Ex-displacement,velocity,force etc.

Magnitude is the numerical value of a physical quantity.
