where, $\vec{a}$ and $\vec{b}$ are two non-zero vectors having the angle $\theta$ between them.

Two characteristics of dot product-
1. The dot product of two vectors is always a scalar.
2. The dot product of two vectors perpendicular to each other is always zero.
