Secularism in India mean the separation of religion from state. Religious laws in personal domain, for Muslim Indians; and currently, in some situations such as religious indoctrination schools the state partially finances certain religious schools.

Secularism is the process of by which the state is separated from the religious ideology biasness.
The concept of Indian Secularism is very different and unique from the other countries as the Constitution itself enshrined the policy to be a secular state whcih is the supreme law of the mainland.
The role of Indian State in practicing of Secularism are :-
- India in its, Preamble attaches this word in order to make sure that the State of India did not follow the policies which are influenced by any religion.
- The impact of religion on the State policies are negligible and all religion need to be treated equally without any differentiation.
- Secularism in India is followed in the main ideology of Fundamental Rights which state that every citizen is free to profess, practise and perform their own religion.
- Also, India does not have category of Official religion. All the religions are equally accepted and maintained.
