In political terms, secularism is the principle of the separation of government institutions and persons mandated to represent the state from religious institution and religious dignitaries (the attainment of such is termed secularity).

Hindus are in majority in India but secularism means that in India, state shall observe neutrality & impartiality to all religions. ... Article 25 mandates that subject to public order, morality and health, all persons enjoy the freedom of conscience and have the right to entertain any religious belief and propagate it.

according to the constitution, Indian secularism has to aspects.one is that every citizen of India is free to believe in and practice any religion of her/ his own cchoic .it also implies that every religious group has freedom to manage its own affairs .the second aspect is that the state will not discriminate against any group or individual on the basis of religion .
