A combination or group of words that gives a complete meaning, thought or idea is called a sentence. Example. I ate an apple. ... A sentence starts with a capital letter (the first alphabet of first word) and ends with full-stop (or period), exclamation mark (!) or question mark(?).

Sentence is a group of words that makes a complete sense. A sentence is said to have a complete sense if there is clearly mentioned about the action of subject. A group of words which don't make complete sense can't be called as a sentence.
