Definition :- Imagine two or moreresistors in series, i.e. connected one after another so that the same current flows through them. The totalresistance of the collection is the sum of individual resistances.

in series resistance.... resistors are joined in series i.e same current flows through them.... so the current across all the resistors are same.
however voltage is different across every resistor but the net sum of voltages across all resistors remain same.
i.e
V = V¹ + V²
IR = IR¹ + IR² (ohm's law)
R = R¹ + R²
thus the total resistance across series resistors = geometric sum of resistances across both of them
hope this helps sister:)
