Answer:

A sex-determination system is a biological system that determines the development of sexual characteristics in an organism. Most organisms that create their offspring using sexual reproduction have two sexes. Occasionally, there are hermaphrodites in place of one or both sexes.

Answer:

Sex determination is a biological process in which the gender of the embryo is determined. It takes place during fertilisation.

When an embryo is formed it inherits 23 chromosomes from each parent and the type of chromsomes it inherits determines its gender.

An embryo inherits 22 similar chromosomes from both the parents which are commonly called autosomes.

Apart from these it inherits 1 chromosome from each parent that determines whether the embryo will be male or female.

The mother always donates X chromosome to the embryo and the father may donate X or Y chromosome.

If the embryo inherits X from the father the she will be a baby girl nd if it inherits a Y chromosome from the mother it will be a baby boy.
