Answer:

SEXUAL REPRODUCTION: in which both gametes like male and female gametes are required to fused together to form embryo.

EXAMPLE: BRYOPHYTES  shows sexual reproduction in which male gamete is called ANTHERIDIUM and female gemete is called ARCHEGONIUM.

ASEXUAL REPRODUCTION: in which only single parent is required to form embryo.

EXAMPLE: TRACHEOPYTES shows asxual reproduction in which SPORES are formed for asexual reproduction .

The biggest advantage of sexual reproduction versus asexual reproduction is genetic diversity.

When a single organism reproduces asexually it

produces an exact copy of the parent organism. There is no room for genetic change under this scenario.

As such, adaptation to changing conditions is very difficult and puts the species at greater risk for extinction. When two organisms reproduce sexually, the offspring is a mixture of the two parent organisms.

In this way, there is lots of room for genetic combinations and variations and ultimately genetic diversity. This allows a species to adapt over time to changing conditions to improve its chances for survival.

The Advantages of asexual reproduction in plants :

The process of reproduction is rapid.

Mates not required.

produced in very less time.

An enormous number of organisms can be

Positive genetic influences pass on to successive generations.

It occurs in various environments.

only one parent is needed.

the population can increase rapidly when the conditions are favourable.

it is more time and energy efficient as you don't need a mate.

it is faster than sexual reproduction.
