A type of reproduction where only one parent reproduces or there is no need of gametes to combine to reproduce.

Here are some types of asexual reproduction:-

  • Fission:-Fission or binary fission is a type of asexual reproduction where the parent body divides itself into two or more similar organisms. This type of reproduction is common in amoeba and euglena.
  • Fragmentation:-Fragmentation is a type of asexual reproduction where fragments from the parent becomes into a new organism. This type of reproduction is common in molds, lichens and sponges.
  • Budding:-In this process a small part of parent comes out of its body which is a smaller copy of the parent which then divides from the parents body to become a individual  organism. Some examples are hydra, yeast.

The male gametes transfer pollen grains to the stigma of the female the pollen grains then travel to the style ad reaches ovary where the fertilization takes place and a new offspring is born.
  • Animals:-In animal the male gamete is known as sperm and the female gamete as ovum or egg The fusion of a male gamete with a female gamete to form a zygote during the sexual reproduction  zygote grows and develops in to a offspring inside female body and gives birth to a young ones.
