  • Silkmoth is a member of the Bombycidae family. it is also known as bombyx mori.
  • It feeds on mulberry leaves and lays eggs, then larvae produced which becomes a pupa. cocoon is formed when pupa spin and are covered with a layer. after that, silk fiber is obtained.
  • Six to eight weeks is the life cycle period of the silkworm.
