- As we know a caterpillar or insect that is responsible for silk production is known as a silk moth.
- Silkmoth is a member of the Bombycidae family. it is also known as bombyx mori.
- It feeds on mulberry leaves and lays eggs, then larvae produced which becomes a pupa. cocoon is formed when pupa spin and are covered with a layer. after that, silk fiber is obtained.
