Answer:
The word smog is derived from two words: smoke and fog. It is formed when various gases, water vapor and smoke settle on dust particles. Gases that are responsible in the formation of smog are produced when fuels are burnt. It reduces visibility and forms a layer of haze in the atmosphere. Smog causes shortness of breath, pain when inhaling deeply, wheezing, coughing, eyes and nose irritation, emphysema, bronchitis, and asthma.
