It the collection of eight planets and their moons in orbit round the sun, together with smaller bodies in the form of asteroids, meteoroids, and comets. The planets of the solar system are (in order of distance from the sun) Mercury, Venus, Earth, Mars, Jupiter, Saturn, Uranus, and Neptune.

The various planets, group of comets, meteors, and other celestial bodies orbiting around the Sun, is called the Solar System. There are around 8 planets in our solar system, whose colors are different due to the elements present on these planets.

The solar system consists of the Sun and celestial bodies which are bound to each other by gravitational forces in this system. The Sun is the source of the entire energy of the Solar System.
