Solution - A solution is generally a homogeneous mixture of two or more substance. E.G. MIXTURE OF WATER AND SALT

Solvent - The substance in which the solute is dissolved is called solvent. It is generally in a large amount. E.G. WATER

SOLUTE - The substance which is dissolved is called a solute. It is generally in a small amount. E.G. SALT

EXAMPLE

Take some water in a glass and salt.

Now mix the salt and water properly.

  • The mixture that we obtain from the mixing of these two substance is called solution.
  • The water we take is solvent.
  • The salt is solute.
