Solvent - The substance in which the solute is dissolved is called solvent. It is generally in a large amount. E.G. WATER
SOLUTE - The substance which is dissolved is called a solute. It is generally in a small amount. E.G. SALT
EXAMPLE
Take some water in a glass and salt.
Now mix the salt and water properly.
- The mixture that we obtain from the mixing of these two substance is called solution.
- The water we take is solvent.
- The salt is solute.
