Solvent is the liquid material in which solid substances (or solute) has to be dissolved to make a solution.
Solute is the solid particle which on dissolving in solvent (or liquid) gives a solution.
Solution is the material formed when solute is dissolved in the solvent.

The liquid in which solute is dissolved is known as a 'solvent'.

Ex:- Solution of sugar in water in which sugar is the solute and water is the solvent.

Solute:-

The substance that is dissolved in a liquid to make a solution is called a solute.

Solution:-

A solution is a homogenous mixture of two or more substances.

For ex :- Salt solution, sugar solution, vinegar, alloys etc.
