speed is related to distance and velocity is related to displacement . Velocity means if the distance travelled by an object in unite time then it is said to be velocity . The formula of velocity = displacement /time . and the formula of speed = total distance travelled / total time . the SI unite and CGS unite of both is same . m per second and cm per second .
