In everyday use and in kinematics, the speed of an object is the magnitude of its velocity; it is thus a scalar quantity. The average speed of an object in an interval of time is the distance travelled by the object divided by the duration of the interval; the instantaneous speed is the limit of the average speed as the duration of the time interval approaches zero.

Time period, trial period - a period of time during which someone or something is tested. time frame - a time period during which something occurs or is expected to occur; "an agreement can be reached in a reasonably short time frame".

HEY MATE!!

Speed, being a scalar quantity, is the rate at which an object covers distance. The average speed is the distance (a scalar quantity) per time ratio. Speed is ignorant of direction. On the other hand, velocity is a vector quantity; it is direction-aware.

The time required to complete one oscillation is known as time period. For example if you are swinging then time taken in moving maximum back then moving forward and finally returning to mean position is counted as time period :)

hope it may help you!!
