Sprouted seeds are those seeds which start to germinate and push out the shoot for seed to become a plant.

To sprout seeds:

  1. Place the seeds in a bowl and fill it with water.
  2. Keep the seeds in water for 8-12 hours.
  3. After soaking water, seeds will start germinating.
  4. Now, rinse and drain the seeds until they start sprouting.

Seeds swell and increases in size when they are kept in water. This process is known as soaking.

Soaking helps in better germination as it makes the seed coat permeable and the cotyledons can easily come out.

Sprouting of seeds is the process by which seeds germinate.

Seeds require oxygen, moisture and sunlight for germination.
