Standard electrode potential

As the concentrations of all the kinds mixed in a half-cell is unity then the electrode potential is called standard electrode potential. For this electrode potential the standard conditions are :-

  • Concentration of solution in which solute dissolve should be 1(M).

  • The pressure of all gas should be 1atm.

  • For solid it should be more stable

  • Temperature should be 25°C

It is measured by voltmeter
