Static friction is that friction which comes into play when one body tends to move over the surface of another body.
Limiting friction is that friction which comes into play when one body is at the verge of moving over the surface of other body.
Kinetic friction is that one when one body is actually moving over the surface of another body.
Rolling friction is that one when one body is actually rolling over the surface of the other body.

hello,
static friction:
* the friction which comes to play between interlocking of irregularities.
kinetic friction:
* Kinetic friction refers to the frictional force of a moving object. If a force is being applied on a stationary object, friction is considered a static force until movement occurs.
* it is also known as sliding friction.
limiting friction:
* The limiting friction is maximum frictional force that can arise before an object begins to slide. Typically, it is equal to the product of the static coefficient of friction and the perpendicular force between the surfaces.
rolling friction:
* Rolling resistance, sometimes calledrolling friction or rolling drag, is the force resisting the motion when a body (such as a ball, tire, or wheel,suit case) rolls on a surface.
while we are rolling suit case there rolling friction plays significant role.
hope it helps....
