Strain:
When deforming force is applied to a body , the configuration(length, volume, shape) of the body changes. Relative change in configuration due to application of the deforming force is called strain.
It is of following types :
1 . longitudinal strain
2. lateral strain
3. volume strain
4. shear strain.
