Strain compatibility is the deformation of shape of a body from a reference point due to application of external force. The assumption of strain compatibility requires reinforcing of shape so that strain of the object and the adjacent side are always equal.
If the strain is linear, the stress applied on the body is called longitudinal. And the relation of stress and strain is
Y= Stress/ strain, where 'Y' is the modulus of elasticity, called Young's modulus.
