Understanding Subject and Predicate is the key to good sentence writing. The subject of a complete sentence is who or what the sentence is about, and the predicate tells about that subject. The dog ran. The dog is the subject of the sentence, because the sentence is telling something about that dog.

Anonymous: example :
The complete subject tells whom or what the sentence is about. For example; The house, The red car, or The great teacher. The complete predicate tells what the subject is or does. For example; (The house) is white, (The red car) is fast, or (The great teacher) likes students.

Subject :- A subject is a person or thing that is doing an action or the person or a thing that is the focus of the sentence.
