Define sublimate in the process of sublimation
Answers
Answer:
When anything solid turns into a gas without first becoming liquid, that's sublimation. When the surface layer of snow or ice turns into fog or steam without melting, this is an example of sublimation. The noun sublimation is from the Latin word sublimare, meaning “to raise a higher status.”
Hi,
PRINCIPLE :-
This method is based on the sublimate and non - sublimate nature of solid.
TECHNIQUE :-
This mixture of a sublimable and non - sublimable substance is heated in an evaporation dish covered with an inverted funnel. This results in the evaporation of the sublimable solid and further condensation on the side of the funnel, leaving the non - sublimable solid behind the dish.
