define sublimation .give examples of sublime substance

sublimation is the process in which some matter directly converts into gaseous state from the solid state,without converting into liquid or melting.
eg. camphor is the best example of sublimation.when you heat it ,it doesn't melt.it directly converts into gas.

When a substance changes directly from solid to gas without reaching the liquid state is is called sublimation. Eg: carbon dioxide,naphthalene balls,anthracene, benzoic acid etc
