Explanation:

synapse is a microscopic gap between any two adjacent neurone. it acts as a one way valve which allows electrical impulses to pass in One Direction only. when an electrical impulse coming from a receptor reaches the end of the axon of sensory neuron then the electrical impulse releases tiny amount of chemical substance into the synapse. this chemical substance crosses the synapse and start a similar electrical impulse in dendrite of neuron. in this way this electrical impulse pass from one neuron to the next
