Syngamy is the process where after fertilisation and formation of embryo, the embryo goes this process where the 2 pronucleus of male and female gamete which are seen after fertilisation is no longer visible and the embryo is getting prepared for the next stage of development ie division of single to 2 cell and then 4 .

Explanation:

  • Syngamy is the process of male sperm and female ovum during sexual reproduction.
  • Zygote is formed during syngamy.
  • There are three types of syngamy-Isogamy(similar gametes), heterogamy(gametes are of two different sizes), oogamy(one motile and one non motile gamete)
  • On basis of source of fusion of gametes- Endogamy(fusion of gamete from same parent), Exogamy(fusion of gametes from two different parent).
