Explanation:

Synthetic fiber or synthetic fibre are fibers made by humans through chemical synthesis, as opposed to natural fibers that are directly derived from living organisms. They are the result of extensive research by scientists to improve upon naturally occurring animal and plant fibers.

Synthetic Fibres:-

  • Synthetic fibres are those fibres that are manufactured artificially with use of chemicals.
  • Generally, this fibre is made by forcing yarn from a thin hole. Polyamides and polyesters are two groups of synthetic fibres.

Examples of synthetic fibres:-

  • Nylon
  • Acrylic
  • Rayon/artificial silk
  • Microfibres
  • Polyester

Explanation:-

Nylon:

  • It is a silk thermoplastic material that can be shape into fibres, layers and other shapes.
  • Nylon is economically important and is used in textiles, socks etc.

Rayon:

  • It is produced from naturally occurring polymers, it is not a fully artificial fiber nor a natural fiber.
  • It is also a semi - Artificial fiber.

Acrylic:

  • Chemical name of acrylic is polymethyl methacrylate.
  • It is used in chemical stability, dye, beautiful appearance, in the construction industry etc.
