heat always flows from a body at higher temperature to another body at lower temperature.as a result of heat flow, the temperature of rises.the flow of heat stops when temperature of the two bodies become equal .There are three ways in which heat can be transferred from one body to another.these are connection,convection and radiation.let us know about these modes of heat transfer.

• conduction : take a piece of stiff copper wire and hold in flame. The copper wire become warm.after some time, the copper wire become hot. this is because,heat is transferred from flame to the copper wire. transfer of heat from hotter part to the colder part is known as conduction.
• convection: The transfer of heat due to movement of the molecules of the medium is called convection.
• radiation: In facts,heat from any distant source reaches us by another mode of heat transfer called radiation.
