Hi,
tension may be described as the pulling force transmitted axially by the means of a string, cable, chain, or similar one-dimensional continuous object, or by each end of a rod.
We can simply define it as string force.
When an object is only depended on the string that is keeping the object stationery or keeping it in motion is known as force of tension
Hoping it helps
