Answer:

A point mass is an abstract point in space where the entire mass of the object has been concentrated as it seems. A singular point in space time where the entire mass of the body is concentrated. So now instead of dealing with n number of particles you just deal with one particle and its trajectory

Answer:

The point mass is also called point object or simply the particle . An object is said to be a point object for a point mass when the change in its position is very less as compared to its on size, for example a person standing on the platform is regarded as a point object for the train passing through the platform, and, the earth is considered as point object since for motion around the sun the size of the earth that is the diameter is very small as compared to the distance between the sun and the earth .
