Thyphoid is caused by the pathogen Salmonella typhi. This disease is also known as enteric fever.

These pathogen generally enter the small intestine through contaminated food and water.

The common symptoms are high fever, weakness, stomach pain, headache and loss of appetite.

In severe cases Intestinal perforation and death may occur in severe cases.

For testing the thyphoid is confined by Widal test.
