Human activities that are major sources of outdoor air pollution, include:

  1. Most of this air pollution we cause results from the burning of fossil fuels, such as coal, oil, natural gas, and gasoline to produce electricity and power our vehicles.
  2. Carbon dioxide(CO2) is a good indicator of how much fossil fuel is burned and how much of other pollutants are emitted as a result.
  3. Fuel combustion from motor vehicles (e.g. cars and heavy duty vehicles)
  4. Heat and power generation (e.g. oil and coal power plants and boilers)
  5. Industrial facilities (e.g. manufacturing factories, mines, and oil refineries)

Hope this helps you
