Answers
celestial objects is a heavenly body which is observable. these may include all kinds of matter present in outer space which are observable.
pole star is the brightest star position and can be observed at the axis of earth.
constellation is group of stars which form various characters when observed their arrangement carefully
asteroid are kind of nomad Rocky structure of various minerals in the outer space these can be as big as sun
geo stationary satellites are the satellites which are man made and are placed on certain altitude above the earth and they move in the same direction of earth
comets are cellestial objects which cpnsists of ice, dust, and other minerals and when comes near a star, shines brightly with a long icy tail
light year is a measure of distance related to outer space when an object travels through space for a year at the speed of light
meteorite are rocks that appears from outer space and enter into the planet atmosphere to collide with the surphace of the planet
Define the following (a) milky way (b) celestial object (c) Pole star (d) Constellation (e) Asteroid (f) Geo stationary satellite (g) Comets (h) Light year (i) Meteors (k) Meteorites
Explanation:
(a) Milky way- It is a huge disc shaped galaxy consisting of billions of stars and other celestial bodies like planets, asteroids, gas clouds. Our solar system is also a part of the milky way Scientists believe that there is a giant black hole at the center of our galaxy.
(b) Celestial objects- These are natural physical entities composed of matter that are found in the universe. They may be as simple as gas and water vapor clouds or as complex as planets and neutron stars.
(c) Pole star- A star that is closest to the north pole and shines the brightest is called the pole star. Polaris is the name of the Earth's pole star and it is a part of the constellation Ursa Minor
(d) Constellation- A collection of stars in the space that form a distinctive pattern that may resemble a mythological creature or an inanimate object is called a constellation.
(e) Asteroid- Rocky celestial bodies that revolve around the sun and are too small to be termed as planets are referred to as asteroids.
(f) Geo stationary satellite- A man made object that is placed approximately 39000 Km above the equator which revolves around the earth with the same speed as Earth;s rotation and direction (west to east) is known as a geostationary satellite.
(g) Comets- These are aggregates of dust , ice , water vapor and some hydrocarbons that orbit the sun and are formed out of the material which was released during the formation of the solar system.
(h) Light year- It is a unit of distance and is defined as the distance that light can travel through vacuum in one year. It is approximately equal to 9.46 X 10¹² Km
(i) Meteors- These are small chunks of rock that are broken off of bigger asteroids.
(k) Meteorites- Meteors that reach the surface of he Earth without completely disintegrating are called meteorites
