a) Saturated solution

The term saturated solution is used in chemistry to define a solution in which no more solute can be dissolved in the solvent. It is understood that saturation of the solution has been achieved when any additional substance that is added results in a solid precipitate or is let off as a gas.

b) Unsaturated solution

When a solid is added to a solvent in which it is soluble, solute particles leave the surface of the solid and become solvated by the solvent, initially forming an unsaturated solution. (b) When the maximum possible amount of solute has dissolved, the solution becomes saturated.

c) Solubility

Solubility is a property referring to the ability for a given substance, the solute, to dissolve in a solvent. It is measured in terms of the maximum amount of solute dissolved in a solvent at equilibrium. The resulting solution is called a saturated solution.

d) Dispersing medium

Medical Definition of dispersion medium

: the liquid, gaseous, or solid phase in a two-phase system in which the particles of the dispersed phase are distributed. — called also continuous phase, external phase.

e) Dispersed phase

Medical Definition of dispersed phase

: the phase in a two-phase system that consists of finely divided particles (as colloidal particles), droplets, or bubbles of one substance distributed through another substance. — called also discontinuous phase, internal phase.

Answer:-

(a) Saturated Solution: A solution in which the maximum possible amount of a solute is dissolved at a given temperature is known as saturated solution .

(b) Unsaturated Solution: A solution in which more solute can be dissolved at a given temperature is called unsaturated solution.

(c) Solubility : The amount in grams of a solute dissolved in 100 grams of a solvent to make a saturated solution is called the solubility.

(d) Dispersing Medium : It is the components which is present in excess and act as a medium in which colloidal particles are dispersed.

(e) Dispersed Medium : It is the component which is present in in small proportion and consists particles of colloidal dimension .
