ATOM:

  • An atom is any particle of matter at its most basic level which contains at least one proton. Here are some examples of the atoms: hydrogen (H) neon (Ne).

ELEMENT:

  • Elements are the fundamental materials of which all matter is composed

MOLECULE:

  • A molecule is the smallest particle in a chemical element or compound that has the chemical properties of that element or compound. Examples of such elements are oxygen and chlorine.

COMPOUND:

  • When two or more elements chemically combine in a fixed ratio by mass, the obtained product is known as a compound

Atom :-

Atom is the smallest Particle of an element that maintains the chemical identity throughout all chemical and physical changes.

For example:-

calcium ( ca ) , Hydrogen (H) , Iron ( Fe ).

Element :-

Elements are parts of atoms that contain same number of protons in their outer shell and they element consists one kind of atom only.

For Example :-

Hydrogen atom has 1 proton, while a carbon atom has 6 protons.

Molecule:-

The smallest unit of substance which can exist independently is called Molecule.

For Example:-

H2O (water) ,N2 (nitrogen) , O3 (ozone).

Compound :-

A pure substance made up of two or more elements combined chemically in definite ratio.

For Example :-

carbondioxide- A mixture of two elements = carbon and oxide.
