i) Elementary step is a chemical reaction in which one or more chemical species reacts directly to form products in a single reaction step and with a single transition state.

ii) Rate of a reaction is the rate of disappearance of a reactant divided by its stoichiometric coefficient in the balanced chemical equation or rate of appearance of a product divided by its stoichiometric coefficient in the balanced chemical equation.

iii)Order of a reaction: It is the sum of powers of the concentration terms in the rate law equation.

iv) The minimum energy which must be supplied to the reacting molecules to acquire threshold energy is known as Activation energy.

v) The number of molecules, atoms or ions which must collide in order to cause reaction is known as the molecularity of a reaction.
