Metagenesis :

metagenesis The occurrence, during the life cycle of an organism, of two types of individual, both diploid, both of which reproduce, one sexually and the other asexually. The term is sometimes used loosely (but incorrectly) as a synonym for the alternation of generations

Metamerism :

In biology, metamerism is the phenomenon of having a linear series of body segments fundamentally similar in structure, though not all such structures are entirely alike in any single life form because some of them perform special functions. In animals, metameric segments are referred to as somites or metameres.

Bioluminescence Wich chapter question :

Fireflies, also known as lightning bugs, are one of the most common examples of bioluminescence. They have a special organ that produces light through a chemical reaction. Fireflies use flashing light to attract mates, but begin emitting light even as larvae.

Answer:

Chapter- Animal Kingdom (Class 11-NCERT BIO)

(i) Metagenesis is referred to the phenomenon of alternation of generation shown by cnidarians which exhibit both forms- polyps and medusae.

(ii) Metamerism is the phenomenon of forming a linear series of body segments that are similar in structure. A metameric segment is also called as somite. Metamerism is exhibited by earthworms.

(iii) Bioluminescence is a natural phenomenon in which an organism produces and emits light. It occurs due to the conversion of chemical energy into light energy. Jellyfish, starfish, crustaceans, are some of the marine organisms that exhibit bioluminescence.

Hope it helps!
