1. A pathogen is an organism that causes disease. Your body is naturally full of microbes. However, these microbes only cause a problem if your immune system is weakened or if they manage to enter a normally sterile part of your body. Pathogens are different and can cause disease upon entering the body.

2. A sarcomere (Greek σάρξ sarx "flesh", μέρος meros "part") is the complicated unit of striated muscle tissue. It is the repeating unit between two Z lines. Skeletal muscles are composed of tubular muscle cells (myocytes called muscle fibers or myofibers) which are formed in a process known as myogenesis.

3. The jejunum is the second part of the small intestine in humans and most higher vertebrates, including mammals, reptiles, and birds. Its lining is specialised for the absorption by enterocytes of small nutrient molecules which have been previously digested by enzymes in the duodenum.

4. Homeostas is the tendency towards a relatively stable equilibrium between interdependent elements, especially as maintained by physiological processes.

5. Karyokinesis is defined as the division of the nucleus during the M phase of the cell cycle. It is the first step in M phase.
