  1. Redox reaction- the reaction in which both oxidation and reduction occur is called redox reduction
  2. Oxidation-Addition of oxygen and removal of hydrogen is called oxidation
  3. Reduction - addition of hydrogen and removal of oxygen.
  4. Oxidation no- it is a charge which is real ( in case of ionic bond) or imaginary (in case of covalent compoind)

1. Redox Reaction- It is the rocess in which reduction and oxidation occur simultaneously.

2. Oxidation- Removal of the electrons and increase the oxidation number is known as oxidation process.

3. Reduction- In this there is gain in the electrons and decrease in oxidation number.

4. Oxidation Number- It is defined as the real or imaginary charge present on an element in the given substance.

Oxidation Number- Real (Ionic Compound)

Oxidation Number- Imaginary (Covalent Compound)
