(i) Acids = a liquid substance that can dissolve metal and may burn your skin or clothes. Acids have a pH value of less than 7. Example: Hydrochloric acid, Sulphuric acid.

(ii) Bases = a chemical substance with a pH value of more than 7. Example: Sodium hydroxide, Zinc Sulphate.

(iii) Indicators = Indicators are substances that change colour when they are added to acidic or alkaline solutions. Examples: Litmus, phenolphthalein.

(iv) Neutral solutions = Neutral substance is a substance that shows no acid or base properties, has an equal number of hydrogen and hydroxyl ions and does not change the colour of litmus-paper. Examples: Salts, Water.
