  • The ray which parallel to the principal axis,After reflection it cut the principal axis. This is called as Focus.

  • The distance between the center of a convex lens or a concave mirror is called as Focal length.

a ) optical centre:- The centre point of a lens is known as optical centre.

b ) principal axis:- The line passing through the optical centre of the lens and perpendicular to both the faces of the lens is known as the principal axis.

c ) principal focus:- A light rays parallel to the principal axis of the lens meet at a point on the principle axis this point is known as the principal focus.

d ) focal length:- The distance of the point from the centre of lens at which a parallel ray of beam converge is known as focal length.
