Answer:

(i) Prime Numbers -

the prime numbers are the numbers, which are only divisible by 1 or the number itself.

For example, factors of 6 are 1,2,3 and 6, which are four factors in total. But factors of 7 are only 1 and 7, totally two. Hence, 7 is a prime number but 6 is not, instead it is a composite number. But always remember that 1 is neither prime nor composite.

Even Numbers

Any number that can be exactly divided by 2 is called as an even number. Even numbers always end up with the last digit as 0, 2, 4, 6 or 8.

Some examples of even numbers are 2, 4, 6, 8, 10, 12, 14, 16. These are even numbers as these numbers can easily be divided by 2.

Odd Numbers

Odd numbers are the numbers that cannot be divided by 2 evenly. It cannot be divided into two separate integers evenly.

examples are 1, 3, 5, 7, etc.

Composite Numbers

composite numbers are the numbers which have more than two factors, unlike prime numbers which have only two factors, i.e. 1 and the number itself. These numbers are also called composites.

For example, 6 is composite because it is divisible by 1, 2, 3 and even 6, such as:

6÷1 = 6

6÷2 = 3

6÷3 = 2

6÷6 = 1

Factors

a number (dividend) is exactly divisible by any number (divisor), then the divisor is a factor of that dividend. Every number has a common factor that is one and the number itself.

(i) Prime Numbers : Natural Numbers(other than 1) having exactly 2 factors.

Natural Numbers which are divisible by 1 and itself are Prime Numbers.

(ii) Even Numbers : The Numbers which are exactly divisible by 2 are called Even Numbers.

(iii) Odd Numbers : The Numbers which are not divisible by 2 are called Odd Numbers.

(iv) Composite Numbers : All Natural Numbers except 1 and Prime Number are Composite Numbers.

Numbers having more than 2 factors are called Composite Numbers.

(v) Factors : Those Numbers which divide the given Number completely are known as Factors of that number.
