It was a novel idea used by Gandhi ji to fight against colonial government.

It has two pillar
1) truth
2)non violence

The idea of satyagrah emphasised the power of truth and the need to search for truth . It suggested that if the cause was against injustice , then physical force was not necessary to fight with oppressor.

praktiwari5485: Satya means truth and agrha means to keep fast.the use of violence was prohibited
Nishant5001: hmm thnq but agrah means request
