The law of conservation of mass states that mass can neither be created nor destroyed in a chemical reaction. Thus, the amount of matter cannot change.

Swayam7710: this line should be added in answer that mass can be transformed from its one form to another

According to this law mass can neither be created nor destroyed in a chemical reaction or a physical transformation. So u can also say that the mass of the product should always be equal to the mass of the reactant.
Hope it help u
